Film composer Kira Fontana writes riveting music that forges new ground and embraces an emotional rawness without fear. A classically trained composer and pianist, Fontana recently composed the film score for documentary breakout hit Kedi, dubbed "a mesmerizing score" by the New York Times. The Kedi soundtrack was released on Lakshore Records. Directed by Ceyda Torun, Kedi is a magical and moving love letter to the free-roaming street cats of Istanbul – and a NYT Critic's Pick that earned a 98% critic's score on Rotten Tomatoes. As Variety notes, "the musical score by Kira Fontana provides the perfect accompaniment to a profoundly affecting meditation."
Kira Fontana received her BM in Composition with honors from the Eastman School of Music, and her MM in Composition from the Yale School of Music on a full scholarship, where she was admitted as the top candidate in the most competitive year in the history of the school. Influenced by her main mentors, internationally acclaimed minimalist composers Steve Reich and John Adams, Fontana's award-winning music has been performed and recorded by some of the top classical musicians in the world.

Fontana is an active singer-songwriter, worship leader and recording artist, and her original songs feature collaborations with Grammy-winners Ryan Freeland and Josh Monroy (Andra Day), and Howard Bilerman (Arcade Fire).
